Steno & Secretarial Asst. (Hindi) (NSQF)

The Stenographer & Secretarial Assistant (Hindi) (NSQF) trade is a 2 year Engineering course offered by Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), designed to develop skilled professionals in Hindi stenography, typing, office administration, and secretarial practices. The course equips students with the knowledge and practical skills required to perform shorthand writing, Hindi typing, office correspondence, document preparation, record management, and administrative support in government offices, private organizations, educational institutions, and business establishments.

During the course, students gain expertise in Hindi shorthand, Hindi typing, office procedures, computer applications, business correspondence, filing systems, record management, office communication, and professional ethics. They are trained to take dictation in shorthand, transcribe it accurately into typed documents, prepare official letters, reports, notices, minutes of meetings, and maintain office records using modern computer applications. The course also develops communication, organizational, and time-management skills while familiarizing students with digital office tools, enabling them to efficiently perform administrative and secretarial responsibilities in a professional work environment.

  • Work as a Hindi Stenographer in government departments, courts, public sector organizations, and private companies.
  • Join ministries, district offices, municipal corporations, universities, and educational institutions as a Secretarial Assistant or Office Assistant.
  • Get employment in courts, legal firms, and judicial offices for shorthand writing, documentation, and administrative support.
  • Work as a Personal Assistant (PA) or Stenographer to senior officers, executives, and government officials.
  • Join corporate offices, banks, insurance companies, and business organizations to handle office correspondence, record management, and administrative tasks.
  • Work as a Data Entry Operator, Office Executive, or Documentation Assistant using computer applications and office management software.
  • Find employment with media organizations, publishing houses, and news agencies for transcription, documentation, and content preparation.
  • Work as a Receptionist-cum-Office Assistant responsible for office communication, scheduling, filing, and customer interaction.
  • Start a typing, documentation, translation, and secretarial service center, providing professional office support and document preparation services.
  • Prepare for government recruitment examinations such as SSC Stenographer, High Court, State Secretariat, Public Service Commissions, Railways, and other competitive examinations where stenography and typing skills are essential.
  • Pursue higher education such as Diploma in Office Management, B.Com, B.A., B.Voc., or professional certifications in Office Automation, Computer Applications, and Business Administration to enhance career prospects.
