Electronics Mechanic (NSQF)

The Electronics Mechanic (NSQF) trade is a 2-year Engineering course offered by Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), focused on developing skilled technicians in the installation, servicing, and maintenance of electronic equipment. The course provides students with knowledge of electronic components, digital and analog circuits, communication systems, consumer electronics, and industrial control devices.

Students learn to assemble, test, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of electronic equipment using modern tools and measuring instruments. They also gain practical exposure to PCB assembly, soldering techniques, fault diagnosis, and preventive maintenance. In addition, the course develops technical problem-solving skills and familiarizes students with modern electronic systems used in industries. Graduates are capable of handling installation, maintenance, and servicing tasks with accuracy and efficiency. The trade prepares candidates for careers in electronics manufacturing, service centers, automation industries, telecommunications, and other technical sectors.

  • Join consumer electronics companies for the installation, servicing, and repair of televisions, audio systems, home appliances, and other electronic products.
  • Get employment in government departments, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), Railways, Defence organizations, BSNL, telecom companies, and broadcasting services where ITI-qualified Electronics Mechanics are required.
  • Work with telecommunication industries for the installation, testing, and maintenance of communication equipment and networking devices.
  • Join industrial automation companies for servicing electronic control systems, PLCs, sensors, drives, and process control equipment.
  • Work as a PCB Assembly and Testing Technician involved in soldering, assembly, inspection, and testing of printed circuit boards and electronic modules.

  • Work as a Quality Control or Testing Technician in electronics manufacturing units to inspect and test electronic products and assemblies.
  • Join renewable energy industries for the installation and maintenance of solar inverters, charge controllers, batteries, and electronic power systems.
  • Start your own electronics repair, servicing, and maintenance business, offering services for consumer and industrial electronic equipment.
  • Work as a Technical Support Executive in electronics and communication companies, providing customer and product support.
