The Information & Communication Technology System Maintenance (ICTSM) (NSQF) trade is a 2-year Engineering course offered by Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), designed to develop skilled professionals in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and management of computer systems, networking equipment, and communication technologies. The course equips students with the technical knowledge and practical skills required to assemble, configure, repair, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, peripheral devices, operating systems, wired and wireless networks, and various IT-enabled communication systems.
During the course, students gain expertise in computer hardware, operating system installation and configuration, networking fundamentals, server administration, cybersecurity basics, data backup and recovery, cloud computing concepts, and preventive maintenance. They are trained to diagnose hardware and software faults, install and configure network devices, troubleshoot connectivity issues, implement security measures, and provide technical support using industry-standard tools and practices.
