Ref. & Air Cond. Tech. (NSQF)

The Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician (NSQF) trade is a 2-year Engineering course offered by Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), designed to develop skilled professionals in the installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration and air conditioning systems. The course equips students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to work on domestic, commercial, and industrial cooling equipment, including refrigerators, air conditioners, deep freezers, cold storage systems, water coolers, and centralized HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems.

During the course, students gain expertise in refrigeration principles, air conditioning systems, refrigeration cycles, compressors, condensers, evaporators, electrical controls, refrigerants, piping and brazing techniques, fault diagnosis, preventive maintenance, and energy-efficient cooling technologies. They are trained to install, test, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain refrigeration and air conditioning equipment using modern tools and instruments while following environmental regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices. The course also introduces students to inverter technology, commercial refrigeration systems, cold chain technology, and basic HVAC design, preparing them for careers in the rapidly growing refrigeration and air conditioning industry.
